Value of completed Sets

Is there anywhere that would tell me the value of any of the completed sets or is the value determined by the individual coins inside the set?

I thinks it the total of each coin. It’s listed on each of our individual sets, based on what coin is in each set when we open that particular set. If you have a registry set, you should be seeing 2 numbers - one is the total dollar amount you list ( if you enter the data field) of what the coin cost you. The other is the total cumulative vaule based on each coin provided each coin has a PCGS vaule in the price guide. And again, if it does not, you can add your estimated value.

If your looking at sets you do not own, there is no public listing of its value.

I do not have a registry set. But I am going to try to decide which one to put together. Thinking about a small one for starters. I like half dollars so I was thinking of the Kennedy Half Dollars Basic Silver Short Set, Circulation Strikes (1964-1970). It is only eight coins and by going through the motions of completing a set I would probably iron out all of the questions that go along with it.

If you go to the price guide in that series you should see at the top of the page what they estimate a set to cost in certain grades. Try this link and than look up your series. I hope this is what your looking for...…

There are set prices in the Grey Sheet, but they are for average coins, not high-end pieces.

Thanks, I never noticed that at the top before, so much to learn. This is great!

I got the PCGS price guide link from the US Mint website and then this forum link from the price guide about 3 months and never bothered to look any where else for price guides.

Thanks to both of you for your help!

    Thanks

I may have some of the coins you might be looking for. Obviously you will find the MS66 and better coins difficult to find and expensive. My extras are 65 and lower. I am still working on my Kennedy sets and at least in the top ten on a couple of them. It is rewarding to finish a set... Good luck with your endeavors..
