1915 Cracker Jack.

I’m currently waiting to hear back from someone selling 1915 Cracker Jack cards that look unbelievable... WITH THE WRAPPER THEY COME IN. I’m not going to divulge anymore at this time. I’m shaking like a leaf. Here is a pic of the wrapper:

I’m exploding inside, and had to share this somewhere. Any advice appreciated!

    Advice don’t talk about it if you plan on consigning for auction. If it’s truly a “fresh” find. The mystery goes away if the story blows up here and some internet drama comes of it. Otherwise please share your entire experience!

    Those are cool.

    I opened a mess of that in 1993.

    I think I sent someone a complete set here back years ago.

    April 1 is still a few weeks away. but hey if replica 1915 cracker jacks is your thing then enjoy

    I've made all kinds of mistakes/misunderstandings over my 30 yrs of collecting.

    I dont think the 1914 and 1915 crackerjacks were actually issued in wrappers because so many of them have caramel stains so i think they were just inserted directly in the boxes of crackerjacks. But i could be wrong. I wonder if any unopened boxes have ever been discovered. I am not aware of any.

    Are the cards made in 1915, or replicas of card made in 1915?

    Did his great grandfather pass them down through an estate sale and they weren't sure of the value?

    I only have one example of the 1915 CJ - bought it almost 30 yrs ago just to see what they were like - I paid around 30 bucks for the card.

    To compare.

    While the T206s (1909-11'ish) were chromolithograph printed, the CJs, like the Fan Craze cards were done by a printing technique called photoengraving.

    Also, another reason why we see so many nice examples of the 1915 CJs is due to the fact that they had a "Mail-In" promotion - by memory? 100 coupons or 1 with 25 cents gets you a complete set?

    Nice card - what is the grade on it. I have 1/2 of the big two but the easier of the two. Have no clue how I am going to find a nice Shoeless Joe to match it. Original photo in the SGC and the crossover.

    I have a Smokey Joe Wood SGC 3 probably would not cross without a m/c designator.
