Question. Did you get Sear's opinion in person or in writing or did someone tell you he authenticated it?
Got Sears authentication in writing...I have it,
Here is the Sear authentication.
As a general rule, "lifetime of Jesus" shekels are worth considerably more than coins issued a few decades before or after - simply because of that potential biblical connection, as a "thirty pieces of silver" coin. The catalogue quoted on the certificate gives a price of GB£90, but was published back in 2001. There's one up for auction in the next CNG sale, dated Year 155 (the year before yours), in roughly similar condition, given a US$300 estimate; here's the entry on CoinArchives:https://coinarchives.com/a/lotviewer.php?LotID=1443784&AucID=2963&Lot=143&Val=c05ae429122a055903af48ff5da7606c
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
Thanks Sapyx for your help. I have submitted coin to NGC for evaluation etc.
