Thanks in advance :)

Are these pieces a indulgent luxury to get graded and slabbed? Peace Roy

Let me get better images, I shot this in really low light, at a high ISO so it is quite grainy.

This is graded FR02. When I see some of the full date PO01's out there I can't figure it out

With this coin there would have to be a lot more missing detail to be a poor. The reason? Because it is so easy to identify. No date needed, as it's a one off year?

Save your money. Don't think it will straight grade. Looks to have been blasted with something.

Must be a condition-rarity thing: Prices for PO01-graded coins are crazy!

For example, looking at some ebay sales, PO01 common-date Morgans are more expensive than MS65.

I once had a penny that I swore up and down was a 1909-S VDB. I don't know that it would have even made PO01. I was thinking that putting it on the railroad tracks and letting a freight train run over it might amplify the date, mintmark, and V.D.B. to make believers out of the naysayers.

    They certainly do.

I can't remember who (my apologies), but someone on the forum called JA to ask what a green CAC sticker meant on a PO-01 coin, and his response was:

"If a PO1 coin has a sticker, it means it's a coin that, while completely worn out, doesn't have too many other issues like minor damage, uneven wear from being bent and straightened, or signs of corrosion or stains or scratches that grading services may consider market acceptable for the grade. It does not mean that a PO1 is any closer to either an FR2 or a completely smooth planchet. It means it's a "wholesome" coin."

@Kyle... Thanks for the explanation. I always thought the CAC designation was an indication that the coin in hand might be a good candidate for an upgrade.

Compare the wear on the PO-01 1879 Morgan to my FR02 Albany. Almost a full date to boot and then tell me mine is a FR02

Here's my PO01. The Pitting on yours has me puzzled. Looks like pitting on top of a once smooth coin

    AG03 - 1926-S

These look to be great condition compared to everything else in this thread!

    That's true. Sorry. But the 26-S is a pop 9-0. :|
