Best Ebay Presentation?

What Ebay seller presents their items in the most pleasing manner? I am looking to upgrade my Ebay listings and trying to find solid examples of high quality listings that portray quality and professionalism. Thanks!

Smpsportscards is great too. Perfect scans, responsive to messages and willing to wheel and deal. Everything I look for as a buyer.

As s seller I try to do the same thing on my listings. Along with an awesome description.

what are you talking about? ive bought two cards from him recently and both were the exact cards in the scan and certs shown.

wadevl obviously went to pmr-md's eBay feedback page and is talking about the 1 instance in pmr-md's last 6,045 recorded transactions where he sent the wrong card by mistake. I'm no math expert, but that appears to be a 99.98% efficiency rating. That's pretty darn good to me.

I'd also like to add that I am in no way affiliated with pmr-md, but I am affiliated with the stopping of silly internet comments like wadevl's. When there's a 99.98% chance that the card I bought is the card I will receive, I'll take those odds.

  • And another threads goes to hell on this forum, and only in two replies. Keep up the great work!

He must be referring to this text in the listings:

“Please note, that I often have duplicates of graded cards. Only 1 card is scanned for imaging purposes. You may receive a different PSA serial number, but the grade will be the exact grade being bid on. If this is a problem for you, please do not bid. “

For your original question, I think you need to have a good scanner (Epson V600) and scan the front and the back. Provide reasonable shipping costs and have solid seller feedback. Even with that you (assuming you are a low column seller) still be behind the sellers with a big following. PWCC, 4SC, etc.

    Best of luck!

Never, and I mean ever, take a picture of your card while you are holding it. I have a strict "buy no cards with human flesh in the picture" policy :D.

Also, if you have combined shipping rates, please list them clearly (just another pet peeve of mine).

Good point on the shipping. ... and the flesh!

One thing that I would suggest is not offering a card for .99 with free shipping. With the cost of postage plus eBay and Paypal fees you are losing money.

thanks I normally ship those cards in a plain white envelope. It does cut down on shipping cost.

Ship within 1 day and provide a back scan.

Also, I see you basically ship worldwide. Most of your items are under $2 with free shipping. Personally, I would find another way to sell them (or just keep them) or restrict your selling to US only. Sending a item of that value to Bulgaria is not realistic.

Thanks I am updating some of my scans. With the back of the card. Yes i am correcting the shipping to US only.

Even then, with the Paypal fee and the stamp and final value fee, you are probably not making anything. Isn't the Paypal fee 33 cents alone on a $1 purchase?

Wasn't there someone back in the day who had a woman in a bra who would hold up the cards or comics for sale in the pics listed on eBay? Can't remember if it was on this board or the CGC boards in which we discussed it a ton. >:)

Ok how should I do the shipping? If I use a bubble mailer it cost more to ship. I would have to charge for shipping then.

Plain white envelope and stamp as you are is the cheapest. I think we are saying to not sell them at all on eBay. You are losing money. This does not even count the time you spend to list them. Your time is worth something.

These days I try not to sell anything for under $10 including shipping. I will ship international as well for items under $100, I just make sure to put variable shipping pricing for international and put in the weight of the item, plus add on $1 or $2 handling fee for international. I miss the good ole days when ebay fees were more reasonable and they did not charge fees on shipping and bubble mailers under 4 oz were 63 cents via USPS.
