Jefferson Nickel Variety of the Week - Proof 1952 RED-008 DISCOVERY

Jefferson Nickel Variety of the Week: Proof 1952 RED-008 Discovery
Alright crew, this is why we do what we do! Not until the last Cherry Pickers (6th Edition) came out, I got a little interested in the Re-Engraved Dies (REDs) on the early proof issues. Then one thing led to another and, what the heck, I started looking for them. There are Jefferson REDs for 1950, 1952, 1953 and 1954.
It's interesting to think about proof dies being polished enough to fade out the pony tail and ribbon. Then for so many 1952 proof dies to manually be re-engraved to put some of the details back into the die!
Amazing to think there are now 8 reported REDs for 1952 and it doesn't bother me in the slightest that my discovery is number 8!
Normal ribbon and pony tail on a 1952 Proof
1952 RED-008 - You can see the diagonal line extending from the bottom of the ribbon into the pony tail. Once you look at enough proofs, you will begin to notice (if you happen to be looking at one that has been re-engraved) these lines that don't look natural or carry the normal flow of the original design. Under close magnification (16x), you see raised lines that were etched into the die to strike the coin. Pretty cool when you see one!

Are there others? You could have your name in the record books as well!
Happy hunting!

I can't tell what I am looking for here.
DIMEMAN, let me add some additional information. Thanks!
I see a bat....:)
In the second image it looks like the base extends into the design? Is that so?
I like this one. I have a few examples myself.
I have been trying to get a few of each type, and finally found the 007 at the Long Beach Show.
I have sent many images of new discovery re engraved proof varieties to them, but unless I pay them to examine a physical coin, I get no credit. One day I guess I will have to put up the money to play.
In my hunting experience I feel the red 007 is most rare, the 001 is also a tough find, the 005 is so messy looking forward love it. The 006 must have been the inspiration for the 2018 innovations Dollar

Is that the one they call the “Hatchet” variety?
ROCCO, I'm not sure what you mean by "extends into the design"?
I'm missing RED-007 and agree this one is probably the hardest to locate. Keep me in mind if you come across an extra!
Yeah man, you have to send Wiles the coin! Not expensive to play, $8 a coin for review and $10 shipping.
This is the re-engraved part in orange
You guys make it sooooooooooo hard for me to not start collecting varieties. Just sayin’.
