Dangerous counterfeit unless you know what the genuine coin looks like.

The Saudi 4P is one of my favorite coins. At one time they were illegal to own and traded "under-the-table." I consider them to be a U.S. Mint issue but I'm in the minority. :(
The first fake of these coins I encountered was in 1972. This is not from that era. While the weight of 31.9 is perfect and the coin looks genuine at first glance, microscopically, I consider it to be somewhat crude.

I'd like to have one of these someday but would never even consider buying one raw today unless it was from someone that I knew would back it up.

Do you have a picture of an actual coin? I've never seen one of these.

Actually saw one of these last week in Long Beach.

Clearly a US Mint product.....says so right on the piece

No, Look on the internet. Saudi Arabia ARAMCO 4P. There is a thread about these on CU as the long held reason they were produced is disputed.

I assume the above pics are one real and one fake but which is which?

That is correct. Why not take a guess and tell us why you made the choices. :)

The 2nd one in all the pics is the real one. More detail and struck up much better.

I believe the fakes were spotted as early as 1959. I have heard them attributed to Ford, although I can't say whether that's true.
