Maybe I missed it, but who exactly is Mr. Hansen??

Can you link me to something like a bio of him?? I see in the other threads about references to "the next Eliasberg" and stuff like that, so who is this man and what is his background??
Al H.

There are several online bios... Dell Loy Hansen...real estate developer, $ sufficient to duplicate/surpass Eliasberg...IF all the coins needed become available.
Eliasberg did have competitors, but he got the unique pieces.
this says some of his background, partnerships and ownerships

Don't feel bad Al; I've never heard of this guy either.
There is a Thread that follows him like the Kardashian's.
We all know how to use Google but these message boards are like Google on steroids— A massive bank of knowledge on one site. I would rather ask here and get a lot of opinions from verified experts in my field then drink from the fire hose that is google search results.
Some d00d with money who likes coins. He made bank and now spends a bit of scratch on only the finest dreck and widgets.

Don't know him, but his pets are well known.
I keep thinking this when I see Hansen threads:

A pretty old, but good movie.
Eliasberg also had the big advantage of buying the Clapp collection. This was a "starter set" to end all "starter sets"!
Yawn. I see we have another alt on board
Just another rich dude
H-A-N-S-O-N Brothers......... No 'E', just sayin'

I keep thinking that "Hansen Watch" thread is about someone's watch.
I think its the guy who invented leprosy
Status in the hobby is overrated as the comparative fish photo would have been funny even if I had been the little one.
Hansen watch is a mean spirited pool they do at leper colonies , the idea is to guess the name of a person and which of their body parts will fall off first.
davewesen, thanks for the link.
I think the comparison to Mr. Eliasberg is a bit over the top. if I read the Hansen bio correctly, he has done what he's done in three years?? perhaps the coins themselves are an improvement but how the collection was assembled seems to be a result of the times we live in.
TDN, who's the alt you speak of??
A collector who has made waves in the US coin hobby.
Unlike others, it’s easy to follow the progress of his collection as it’s public with TrueViews. Many other collectors are very private about their holdings so their collections are harder to appreciate.
Here's a great way to learn about Del Loy Hansen, in his own voice...

Mr. Hanson is someone with a watch based on the title of the post that has been here for a while.
Don't know if it's a pocket watch or a wrist watch, but the title did say Hanson Watch. It must be a neat watch!
He should get a Swatch watch , those are neato!
I can't comment. I am being watched.
I love the thread, but the title sounds like it's about something like this:
He's definitely on his way to having the best complete collection. There may be smaller, specialty collections that are better here and there, but I'm not aware of anyone else attempting to build a world class complete collection. Of course, it would be interesting if there was!
Funny you should ask -
