Half Dollar Type Set

I recently started an official registry set for half Dollars. I am not particularly into halves, Nickels are more my interest, but I ended up with a Pcgs seated half, and had most of the modern examples. So why not?
There sure is a lot of early types!
I usually prefer to build casual type sets with general type examples and not quite so prolific with slight alterations, thinking of capped and seated halves.
My newer coins are mostly ms66 or 67, but for the pre 1900s halves I am thinking of lowering my standards to VF or lower...
Any advice?

My suggestion is to acquire coins that are pleasing to your eye and not to try to match all dates to a wear standard or to someone else’s notion of what YOUR set should look like.

If your depth of interest is not much more than the fact that you have an erstwhile Seated Liberty half dollar then I would suggest you take a step back and rethink this project. Going all the way back can be (is) incredibly expensive. If you decide this set is still for you and you want to purchase VF coins then do so only if you like the coin and not just to fill a slot. Great points everyone, thank you.
I picked up a few more with mostly reasonable design details still visible.
The circulation cameo coins are a favorite for me, and I look forward finding a decent draped bust this year with any luck.
