Any Shield Nickle experts out there?

I know very little about these and am looking for one for my Dansco 7070. So with that, any opinions on this one? I like all the die breaks and it seems that's common.

Thanks. Interesting stuff.

I am not an expert but like that coin. The only question I have are the lines on the right of the 5 on the reverse. Do you think they are die clash? I also think that coin could be low UNC as I do not see any rub from the pic, but hard to tell.
Hard to tell. Lots of interesting stuff going on with it. I think it would probably be mid AU grade based on a lot of other examples I've been looking at.

Shield nickels without die breaks are rarer!
It seems that way after looking at quite a few.

Nickel.
I like die cracks, too.
A similar coin with many die cracks is the 3 cent nickel.
In November, I made an exhaustive photo study of the 1866 3cn based on reverse and obverse die crack patterns in online auction archives.
I found examples of 10 of the 15 die pairs listed in Allan Gifford's book,
plus an additional 32 different die pairs (at least 2 examples each), and about 10 additional coins which are definitely
different pairs but only one example each.
It's more evidence that die life was relatively short in the early days of striking the copper-nickel coins!
The coin is OK but the rim knock at 5:30 on the reverse would be a deal-killer for me.
I despise rim bumps, dings, hits, knocks.
