PCGS President, that is. He's reaching out to people who registered for the FUN lunch for a quick intro and to let us know how customer service is going to be greatly improved. Good first impression!

And I was waiting for him on Twitter.

I just got off the phone with him. Talked for about 10 minutes or so. I made a pitch for expanding the variety program. He was very nice and personable. I think the future looks good. :)

I didn't get an invite either this year.
I guess I am on the outside looking in?
I do have a question or two, but I guess I will never get an answer.
The questions should not be aired publicly

Yes, and how about establishing consistent grading practices to avoid this in the future?

I never had the feeling the PCGS president had any influence over the entire nation.

PCGS never really was not great.

    I'd say make PCGS "BETTER".

I assume you want the standards loosened. I would prefer that they weren't.

Wow, shocking, you're contradicting what most people think should happen. :joy:

I think they still sell those self slabbing kits. You can just stick on any number you want...and turnaround time is instant.

Around 100 people usually attend the luncheon’s, right? Calling 100 people.. that’s harsh.

I’m so glad we have a president who cares so much about meeting as many people as possible though, and listening to their ideas.

I am a fan of the conservative grading, even if that means getting a lower grade than I hoped for on my own coins. I know whatever they grade them, that they are solid for the said grade. That's what makes PCGS graded coins so desirable, in my opinion... I have two coins coming back soon and I am eager to see how they did!

Well, I'm sitting on a couple thousand PCGS graded Barber Half's. If they want to keep grading Barber Half's like the last batch I had graded they are going to have a heck of a grade guarantee bill from me! Think...F's are now VG, VF's are now F, and on and on!

To each their own. My only real issue with them is TAT and lack of any seeming FIFO system.

It's wonderful if you're buying. If you're selling you won't appreciate having your coin grouped with inferior coins. Many collectors only pay attention to the grade on the plastic when researching auction records.

FIFO is first in, first out. Don't know what TAT is.

Turnaround time and First in, First out.

Keep in mind, it's difficult to truly understand how many coins graders grade each day, unless you've actually been in the grading room. It's a perspective thing. As a collector/dealer, you want your coins graded and shipped back to you as quick as possible. To either get prized coins back into your collection, or to keep inventory graded. But as a grader, you're just doing your job and grading whatever is in front of you.
