Phil Jackson was the biggest front runner head coach of all time. He had three different players that were the best in the NBA at one point with Jordan,Shaq & Kobe and the triangle offensive system he ran that helped win all of those titles wasn't even his, it was created by his assistant Tex Winters.
Red Auerbach was the NBA's best Head Coach with Gregg Popovich 2nd,IMO.

    1: Billy Martin
    2-10: other people

This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

Tough to do in all sports, how about a thread in one category? Hard to leave out John Wooden or Bill Belichick.

Ten in one category would get mushy after the first three or four selections.

number of wins, innovators, large schools only, those that can bring players together, those that can get the most out of players, those that can over adversity or tragedy, number of championships, etc.
