I can't fathom the physical look of such load
Back in 2006, I was in the main Cage at the West Point Mint,
which had hundreds(?) of 65 pound gold bars.
Have a photo somewhere of Dave Camire and I each
holding a 65 pound gold bar in the cage. They were heavy!
Here's my Dad hitting a golf ball towards the gold vault at Ft Knox (yes, it was a bad shot
)

They didn't count your stash of Dan Carr items.
But in the article there is this tid bit of trivia you can once again dazzle your friends with at the Christmas party.
Book Value: The Department of the Treasury records U.S. Government owned gold reserve at the values stated in 31 USC § 5116-5117 (statutory rate) which is $42.2222 per Fine Troy Ounce of gold. The market value of the gold reserves based on the London Gold Fixing as of September 28, 2018 was $310.5 billion.
Important to not hit into the gold trap on the 8th hole.
Bad shot if the hole was straight ahead, towards Ft. Knox, great shot if the hole was to the left, near the parking lot.
Good shot of Ft. Knox, at least.
Looks like roughly two thirds of the gold is there with most of the remaining third at West Point and Denver. I didn't know that.
Well, please tell us all what you and Dave and ? were doing up there in a short paragraph. Is that were the images in the "Greatest Coins" book were made?
A small sample...

Where was this taken? Note the posters. A foreign country?
I was just surprised the Government could compile this information in such a short time frame. Everything usually takes 6 weeks.
I don't know. I googled Gold at Ft. Knox and this is one of the images that came up. After looking at the posters I think your right, oh well, I tried.
A small sample...
Damn it @Bullsitter, when I let you take a picture of my home vault, I asked you to never show the picture to anyone! You said that you wouldn't but here it is for everyone to see!
OMG !!!
The source is from the OIG audit report (OIG-19-005) done bi-annually.

Let me give you a friendly visit

That is a lot of gold combined
All I see are dead saints
My Saint Set
And they can confiscate, melt, re-mint and re-issue, anytime. No need to crack out and re submit any. See the Lanbbords , for details. And pay those premiums in the meantime.
My first duty station was Fort Knox, on a side note.

Wow, it's like the Sam's Club of gold... (I was going to call it GoldMart, but I think that name's been taken...
)
I would like to get a peek into Fort Knox.
