Any experts on old assay(?) scales?

Got sent pictures of 2 scales I presume to be old but I have no idea if they are worth $20 or $2000.

Any forum members have experience with these?

I am not an expert but there are people on here who are. Post the pictures and see what happens.

If you're talking the little portable scales in an old wood box. Seeing them with 4-5 weights for 100-200. Peace Roy

It will help to post a photo or two.

Doubtful they are true "assay balances." More likely the ones Namvet69 suggests. See the Newman book on this subject.

Apothecary scales are the neat ones.
