Just placed a best offer and Ebay now gives the submitter the option of a 12 hour, one day or two day expiration.
Good news for when you are working within the bonus bucks window.
Edit to add: I tried make offers on a couple more listings and the feature was not offered. As with Ebay I guess, it depends.

now I can quit adding in "comments to seller" that offer is only good for 24 hours.
