I had a couple rolls of 48 s about 35 years back that were prooflike and polish lines, I pieced them out on bidboards and such, however I have a roll of 60 P's that exhibit the same traits, and I send in a KILLER 60 P to our host some years back, wasn't FS..........but close and exceptional strike and a 66/67 IMO...........but they BB it as a whizzed.....it still stings a little

I'm not a Jeff guy, but I really like it. Nice EDS with strong die polish lines is always desirable in my book.
Looks like it could have been PL to me, too. I like the die polish lines.

I always liked the late 1940's Jeffs from San Francisco when I was a young collector. I used to buy rolls and search them to complete my set.
Whenever an S Mint Jeff showed up, it elated me.
I did end up completing my set from circulation............all but the elusive 1950-D.

To me the die polish lines are a distraction.
