I just happened to purchase "Deceptive Bends" back in '77 just for "Feel the benefit".

As for Miles, his Columbia Jazz Tracks LP features On Green Dolphin which really captures his ability in its finest form... A Great arrangement, terrific solos with sidemen that make it happen.
As for Basie, many still never heard his most influential work... and that would be some of Victor sessions from 1930-32 when he with the help of other Bennie Moten recording musicians including Hot Lips Page, Eddie Durham, Ben Webster and Walter Page recorded sides including Toby, Moten's Swing, Blue Room and Lafayette among others that broadened Jazz to new levels...at least for that time...

In A Mist is the most prominent BeIderbecke piano solo I can think of and that was his original composition. I believe It was recorded in 1927 and released originally on Okeh and may have reissued on Vocalion in the 1935-1937 timeframe.
The one Beiderbecke record that is worth hearing is Victor V38139 which was recorded under Hoagy Carmichael's name entitled Barnacle Bill the Sailor. Most jazz historians consider this to be one of the finest jazz novelty records. Beiderbecke's solo is followed by Benny Goodman who is followed by Bud Freeman. Allegedly a certain musician used other lyrics instead of Barnacle Bill the Sailor
