Thank you very much @1Mike1 you are too kind.
Throughout the years here I have seen many ways of displaying coins and
have taken a few of the ideas and made them mine.
Used to collect coins as a kid thanks to my older brother. Got out of it for some reason and then I heard about the new state quarters coming out. So sometime in middle 1998 I picked up a CoinAGE magazine and was really taken back by a lot of the coins and loved that there were these new holders. Had no idea there was a company named PCGS and went to my first coin show in yrs. I picked up a really blast white Franklin Half. Don't remember the grade or date, and sold the coin a few yrs later.

I will actually be in posession of my very first slabbed coin in a few days! A 1942-D Mercury, MS64 FB! Nothing too impressive, but I am excited nonetheless! I absolutely love mercury dimes and it will be very interesting to see a PCGS slab up close.
That's awesome! Please post a photo of it!
And welcome to the boards!
Well, it just came in this morning and it is absolutely gorgeous!! I can see the hype that has been built about these slabs is well deserved! The container just feels sleek and secure, and it is probably my nicest coin at the moment! (Sorry for the poor photos, my poor old camera took a long walk off a short pier recently)

@Paradisefound Thank you! I often think back to those days and thought it would be a good discussion. It's cool that I bought the first slab I ever saw, I remember it was $20. Luckily it wasn't something expensive.

Later, Paul.
I don't remember the first I saw, but the first I purchased: 1914 Barber Half in PCGS VF20. I cracked it out straightway for my Dansco set.
