Wow, love those stories, thanks for sharing !!!
Gift from my Dad. Perfect fit for my core collection. He knew exactly what to get. I think it's the only coin anyone has actually given me.

If I were foolish enough to let this one go it'll never come back so it's here to stay. LM Plate coin and the residing king of the core collection.

Obtained from a mentor, friend and forum member. Perfect addition to the core collection.

Was mine, then a friend's, now mine again. Holding until his sons are old enough to understand and appreciate it.

When my wife was pregnant with my first son I made on offer on this coin via ebay. My wife had to be rushed to the hospital due to complications from the pregnancy. We thought that my son would never make it here. While we were at the hospital I was notified that the seller accepted my offer. My son did make it. He will be turning 4 tomorrow.
cool stories and coins

1942/1 dime received in change by my grandfather on his coffee break. He was such a gentleman that he told the cashier that she had given him a valuable coin and offered to let her keep it (even though he was a coin collector.)

Fortunately, she thanked him and told him to keep it for himself.
I inherited it along with other coins he pulled from circulation to pass the time in his hardware store.
I wouldnt trade it for a million dollars.
Memory is priceless
