What area of collecting do you see represented here on the boards and think you might start?

Is there an area of focus, a series, a type, etc that you see here on the boards and enjoy but have never personally explored, but would like to?
For me, it's medals. I often see medals posted and think that they are quite stunning and historical.

For me its toners. I may have to start some kind of toned type set. Just not sure about AT vs NT for now. Don't wanna get mixed up with a pile of artificially toned dreck.
standing liberty quarters....never really owned a nice one....even the slicky barely read the date ones in my 90% stash,I find attractive

I started collecting toned Lincolns after seeing some gorgeous examples posted ATS and being led to @Coppercolor and his spectacular registry set.
It makes sense to approach this cautiously.

My collectors Universe inspired wish list
Most recently I want a half dime from 1829 or so, a five cent coin with an Eagle!
For casual collecting I have an interest in tokens, for more serious future collecting “modern” US coins after 1900. No more registry sets. I am mainly interested in Walking Liberty halves and Standing Liberty quarters.
Colorful natural tone and crusty darker rim tones have become very appealing to me since seeing them here. Select commemoratives like pilgrim, Oregon, and Connecticut are on my wish list now also.
I also appreciate worn and darkened silver especially with color, which is usually more affordable than uncirculated

US type. I have to forcibly stop myself from beginning yet another hugely ambitious large collection.
That and walking liberty halves.
Both of these pursuits are particularly dangerous as the entry cost is low (easy to find nice examples for well under $100) but the cost for completion in reasonable grade is quite high.

Commemorative half dollars. I’ve been seeing a lot of nice frosty gems at reasonable prices. Seems like a fun series that won’t break the bank if you’re not going after toners.

I find myself attracted to vintage Hobo nickels. Problem is, they are very popular and expensive. And truthfully, I wouldnt be able to tell the real deals from modern carvings, so I stay away.
But, I really admire some of the examples posted here on the forum

No for most part - my investment direction is decided by me and buying opportunities giving positive direction.
I have seen some nice classic commems here I like - this is a very undervalued area.
My investment recommendation: Diversified PCGS portfolio of Slabbed Gold coins close to melt mods MS69-70, classic MS63-64. Also numismatic material under $1000 each - type, walkers, Dollars, classic commems, some nice classic gold < $1000 numismatic value over melt, key dates. Minimum grade G04 - with a lot of MS MS64-MS66 (maybe some 67 if not too expensive). In this area I like material in the $100 to $500 range over that my aversion to risk kicks in. Your call depending on total investment and how u want tweak it.
I would recommend about 60-100 total coins or whatever can be effectively managed, stored. I churn mine via eb store and shows. I also do currency about 1100 pieces US and World.
And...IF the 21-O and 21-CC Morgans get boring....31-S Peace Dollars here I come!!!
I don't think I could compete with some of the most beautiful collections posted here so I'm generally interested in things where there's no active, awesome collector here
