I like to think HH Holmes carried this in his pocket as he wandered the halls of his murder castle.

    aka Herman Webster Mudgett? I'm not sure anyone knows his real name.
    I recommend "The Devil in the White City"

    @kaz I've heard it's awesome, a friend gave me her copy but I haven't read it yet. I really need to do that!

    Once you start it it's hard to put down. That's one of the most worn Columbian halves I think I 've ever seen . very neat.

    When I saw it I couldn't resist. I was actually purchasing a nicer toned one for my type set!

    That one saw some circulation. I think these are still a good buy in unc but worn ones are cool.

    I like the coin, good honest wear. But the HH Holmes thing creeps me out.

    Loved that book. That era is one of the most amazing in our history IMO

    Here's mine I bought after finishing the book:

    @PhilLynott That looks great!

    @tyler267 Yea not for everyone, no worries. Thanks for looking anyway. I’m guessing this isn’t quite worn enough to be considered a lowball but I’m still tripping about that a commemorative was used this much. Maybe a good luck charm in the wallet?

    Did Charles Manson have a pocket piece?

    Wonderful book. Loved it. Every fan of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago should read it. Erik Larson is a master storyteller.
