I like wheat cents. Looks like you have some nice ones. I know you didn't ask for advice BUT if you care about selling them off in the future, I would stay away from the blues and the pinks.

I appreciate the comment,. And I am always up for learning. Why stay away from the blue and pink?

Brings back memories of when I was a kid and was filling an album like that by searching bags of cents from the parking meters in Racine Wisconsin. Probably 1960-62.

Wow that sounds awesome! So much fun!! I occasionally order boxes of pennies from the bank and let my son pilfer through them, or might by an old OBW cent roll here and there. I have also enjoyed getting $25 bags of quarters from the mint and digging through them, I have had 2 so far that show a die break happening during the minting process for those bags, from no issue to nice long die cracks. It is quite the adventure!!

Since you asked "Why stay away from the blue and pink" I will comment that I love your enthusiasm, but there appears to be more than one coin in those books that has manipulated surfaces.

Yes, more than likely the colored ones have been exposed to chemicals or heat or both.

There have been many threads discussing blue and pink on copper coins. There are also many experts who disagree with one another...while both making valid arguments. If you are interested, do some searching and you will see what I am talking about! :)

Thank you very much for the information, I see what you are talking about with the colors.

Love that 1910-S. Gorgeous color the way that aged.

    I like them.
However, you will lose some of your reds in the album.
    Buy slabbed for protection.

Several of those reds were bought in slabs, broke em out and stuck em in the book. Probably not the best idea in the world.

Some folks like raw coins. I could collect both raw and slabbed and have fun. Either way works, keep them dry and you'll be ok.

Not the worst idea either-it is nice to fill an album.

    Thanks for sharing!
