When researching this 18S Merc for possible purchase the 3 following Tru Views showed up for the coin. All 3 times the coin graded MS64. It must be PQ for the grade.

It looks like an unstable coin to me. I'd avoid it personally. Notice how the surface of the coin appears to gradually be getting darker? Also there is a toning spot on the reverse above EPU that did not exist on the first image. The toning on the fasces also appears to be getting darker and was not on the original image. I'm thinking dip residue that was not properly rinsed is the cause here.
I’m thinking that you could find an MS 63 that has more eye appeal! That coin looks like it has been played with and the deep coloration around the date is a minus for me. I like to be able to see the date and mintmark easily.
The progression of degradation saddens me.
I think you nailed the problem, Justin.

I have always thought that the newest grading event, (or truview service), is shown at the top of the list of the respective grade. On this coin, it is odd that some of the toning looks like it has "moved" from upper right field to lower right field on reverse.
Looks like a decent coin if there is good luster under there
