Please tell me HOW ..... on 2018 Palladium strategy on sale tomorrow 12 ET *ENDED

ParadisefoundParadisefound Posts: 8,623 ✭✭✭✭✭
edited September 6, 2018 11:11PM in U.S. Coin Forum

They will be on sale 9/6 12ET .... 6AM HST which is not a problem; hitting the site and ready with my fingers :)

~ 15.000 mintage with 1 limit p/household; what would be a chance of those multiple 'household' hitting it at the same time?
This is worldwide marketing so 15.000 can be gone in a matter of seconds.

~ I see eBay seller pre-selling them $1900 limited quantity / 6 sold
What's with this scenario? How do they guaranty delivery for their buyers for such quantity?

I finally decided to get on this year and come to think of it I really want it now

there is no way he knows for sure if he can get 6 coins. if he can't, he is hoping to be able to cancel some orders before negative feedback is left

I thought about it but then theirs be 'picked thru ' first so I better take my chance direct from the Mint ;)
Are you planning to get one yourself Smudge?

I plan on logging in and having all my information entered beforehand. At 10:59 (central time) I will just start refreshing the page consistently until it appears.

No, love the reverse but to me an Eagle any Eagle is bullion and that is too much of a premium for bullion. I expect a price drop in a year or two. I would love one, but try to think with my head, not my heart. For that price I am looking at old (pre civil war) gold with original crust. I know good luck with that but.......

If they are a quick sellout, it is pretty hard to get multiple orders in. Be prepared to enter your 3 digit code on the back of the card. I think the rest of your info you can save (address, credit card number, etc), but you still have to enter the three digit code with each order.

the mint just posted the price, it's official-1,387. you will get them separately, so you will have 2 unopen boxes, 2 shipping charges

So I always have my credit card updated even if you call them a day in advance. Price is $1387.50

Sign in then have a few pages opened to the ordering area just in case you close one you can click to another page open. They have the price up I just checked.

That is the order area I just hit refresh the little clockwise 3/4 circle upper top left with the arrow every 5 seconds on the last minute. So at 11:59 I am in Alaska I am hitting refresh every 5 seconds until I see the purchase. The Mint will at exactly 12:00 East Coast time will have it available to purchase when the clock strikes 1 second after.

12 seconds later I am done! Every time it works every time. However I have total silence around me so I can concentrate fully!!!!!! I dont dilly dally around on shipping I just order it. Dont try and call them there busy they wont answer. Now is the time to make sure they got your credit card on file. I am calling them now! 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468)

They might have 20 people lined up to buy for them who have made commitments to do so. If each of these is being given $1550 for their coin, they make $150, the eBay seller makes a little over $100, eBay makes $190, PayPal $57, all courtesy of the "end user" who's hoping the value of the coin doesn't tank in a couple years. If the value tanks in a month, the buyer will just return it, although I don't know when the clock starts ticking on that for advance sales.

The Mint should have put the W mint mark on the reverse where it belongs. That is, if the reverse is the same as the original coin.

Edited to add: It's a different reverse, so sorry for rant.

I prefer having a lower mintage classic for less.... but they're beautiful designs, just the same. They fall into the "WOW" category , for me, too.

I don't think anyone who owns one will ever be disappointed. Of course, this is the coin geek in me, thinking aloud.

you just have to be ready to go. Sometimes the mint does have issues because CC credit processing can only handle so many orders at once. If you have bought from Mint before, your card name & address match up, then you should be fine. Also make sure you are using the best web browser you have. I like Firefox.

Be careful @Paradisefound, you may end up getting none if you attempt that. Unless your second credit card has a different billing address it might be flagged as a duplicate order.

Provident is offering $100 a coin plus they pay shipping etc:

    Hi there,

    What's Happening
Tomorrow at 12:00 Noon EST, the United States Mint will begin selling 2018 1 oz Proof Palladium Eagle coins on its website. Each coin is being sold for $1,387.50 each with a household limit of one (1) coin . We are in need a large quantity of these coins and will pay over the U.S. Mint price to get them.

We will pay you $100 per coin over the U.S. Mint price , or $1,487.50 total per coin. Plus, we’ll cover the postage to get it to us! All we ask from you is a few minutes of your time.

    Here's The Deal
Simply purchase the coin from the U.S. Mint here and ship it to Provident Metals (at our expense) once it arrives. We’ll send you a pre-paid shipping label. As soon as we receive the coin, we will immediately send you a check. We make it easy and cover all of your shipping/insurance costs. Here's how:

    1. Buy the coin from the U.S. Mint. You can order one (1) coin per household starting at 12PM EST tomorrow, September 6th. Click here to visit the U.S. Mint website. Please note that this coin will most likely sell out quickly; be sure to place your order right at 12:00 noon tomorrow EST . Phone orders are not likely to be successful; we strongly recommend placing your online order right at 12:00 PM EST on 9/6.

    2. Once your order has been placed, forward your U.S. Mint order confirmation email to purchasing@providentmetals.com. This locks in your $100/coin profit. We will reply back with confirmation immediately after receiving your order number.

    3. Within 24 hours, we will email you a prepaid USPS shipping label for your coin. Once your coin arrives DO NOT OPEN THE BOX (as tempting as it may be!). Instead, ship it directly to Provident using the pre-paid and insured shipping label. You need not repackage the coin when it arrives from the Mint; just place our label on the original shipping box. Opening the box prior to us receiving it will void the guarantee of $100 and will significantly reduce your profit.

    4. Upon receipt of the coin here at Provident, we will send you payment by check via USPS immediately.

Or with really bad luck you could get the fate of Bill Dominick who opened many different accounts for his US mint purchases and ended up getting hit with identity theft and got a free orange jump suit.
