Help identifying Pieces of 8? Value?

What is counterstamp? Apreciate the education....

Note these are about the size of a dime on the left and a nickel on the right....us coins sizes...forgot I am on the world coin forum....
Don't know anything about cobs, but the one on the right is an 1868 counterstamp from El Salvador.

The coin on the right is from the Mexico mint. No way to tell the date but pre 1732. Neither have much collector value as cobs because there are much better examples available. The countermark on the Mexico piece is a game changer for this coin. This will bring the value of this cob a lot higher. The real amazing thing is the coin retained it's full weight for the 100 + years from the time of minting to getting the countermark. I have no idea of value for this.
Not near my books but I remember that the shape of the ends of the cross can help ID the country.
