Although the grading service records show we were in constant communication using fictional names. It's a shame she had to destroy all her slabs. Think I'll send cash in the dead of night in different currencies to a competing grading service that is slabbing counterfeits.

You know what I enjoy. Reading posts with an uninformed opinion on anything. Let's keep this focused on coins. I could use grading but a coin's authenticity is a much better example of opinions in life.
Disclaimer first; There are very few coins where a group of highly qualified, experienced and informed professional authenticators cannot agree on one way or the other. Thankfully, over time, one side is usually able to prevail.
Here we have coin A. One group claims it is genuine and one group claims it is not. Each opinion is based on what they have learned in the past. The coin is either fake or genuine. That is the truth.
You can hem, haw bleat, groan, whine, and yell, whatever and it will not change the absolute truth about the coin's authenticity. If what a person thinks they know is BS that they failed to check out for themselves, that is going to influence their opinion.
It would be a better world if all the folks posting about authentication (or other things on occasion) were actually informed. There is enough 100% correct and verifiable information out there from thousands of sources for each of us to authenticate a coin and be on the "right" side. No matter where you get that information it may or may not be the truth. It is up to you to find out for yourself. Very often when we do that, we'll find out that we are not as proficient coin authenticators as we thought. It takes a special person to change their mind when confronted with 100% true and verifiable facts that prove they were wrong about a coin.
