Great thread. It's quite sobering to see how variable coin grading can be among professional coin graders.

Both coins I sent in were in holders. 1926 Buffalo Nickel in ANACS 58 holder to PCGS MS63 and 1928D Buffalo Nickel in NGC MS64 to PCGS MS64. Only coins I have ever sent in. I believe If I send in another I will risk them in the holders.

Don't mean to complain, but I sent the 26 in as a 58 to get it in a PCGS holder which I needed for my registry set. So I bought another 26 raw which looked to have just a touch of wear and it came back MS64. While I have done well for the price I paid, I still lack the coin for my registry and they are hard to find in pcgs AU58 holders. I'll try again.

Hopefully people who continue to respond to your thread understand that a crossover means submitted in holder?

Twice had PCGS-45 go up to PCGS-53 (sent in the holders)
Once had ANACS-53 go up to PCGS-58
Once had NGC-53 go down to PCGS-45
