The Big Mac could be on the list as an American Innovation.
However it should be noted that the Big Mac is a copy of the original Bob's Big Boy invention. From the Wikipedia page:
_"Bob's Big Boy is a restaurant chain founded by Bob Wian in Southern California in 1936, originally named Bob's Pantry. It is now part of Big Boy Restaurants International, the current primary trademark owner and franchisor of the Big Boy system. As of September 2017, only five Bob's Big Boy Restaurants remain in operation, all in Southern California. Those five locations are in Burbank (Toluca Lake), Calimesa, Downey, Norco, and Northridge.
The restaurant is named after Wian and the Big Boy hamburger, which he created six months after opening his original location. Slicing a bun into three slices and adding two hamburger patties, Wian had created the original double-deck hamburger"_

Practically every single Route 66 restaurateur had this Sandwich before 1950, and several had it before the Second World War. Every single restaurateur topped it with Thousand Islands dressing. My old boss called it "The Kingburger" and he was serving it before 1950. The esteemed gentleman Mr. Kroc and his corporate chefs get approximately zero points for originality here.
Hey - just a reminder - in Europe they a still serve the fried apple pies. They are a real treat especially compared to the baked ones here in the US. If I ever go to Europe I make sure to hit a McD's for one.
But, of course, we need a "healthy" desert after our super-sized Big Mac extra value meal.
I'm not really opposed to them, I just don't care about them.

Collect what you want to collect, I personally dont care for coins that have been circulated but thats my preference, i'm not gonna hate on someone who does. The hobby doesnt go by a strict standard of what you can or cannot collect.
Getting back to the thread itself, I now have 13 or 14 of these tokens, if you dont like it, sue me.
My McCoin has some kind of double die
I believe it's a DDR.
I'm gonna start an alt account and take a pic with my drone so I can post it for y'all to tell me what I got
"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working" Pablo Picasso
All this controversy over the tokens prompted me to swing by a McD on my way home from work to partake in this "Big Mac" you are all talking about.
I decided I had better get one more token to add to my set of five before the mob descends on McDonald's across America and demands that all the tokens be melted.
Fittingly, my sixth token has the obverse showing. I might move my full set to more stable packaging at some point and I wanted one to keep in OGP.

1). Your token is not eligible for review here, unless is was found in a parking lot, already run over by an automobile a least once or twice;
2). Whatever you are told, especially by eminent experts, you simply must NOT believe it;
3). Post lots of out-of-focus photographs!

We must be heard!
You are hurting your own cause by showing that very artistic token.
Hard to believe they have only been available for five days and have had such an impact that we have a thread for Big Mac token haters!

I say we band together and demand legal tender status for them! And I want an edition in silver, and maybe gold!

Let's think up a name for the resistors.
MacHaters?
McSpoilSports?
BigMacophobes?
Macnorers.
I would keep one if I had it, but I refuse to eat at McDonalds in all but emergency situations.
Even Perry Hall is buying the double beef burgers. For twenty years it has been free coffee only.
The situation is dire, friends.
I know it's about the Big Mac, but wouldn't a purist say the correct title of the coin should be "McCoin" as in McDonalds, and not MacCoin?

I like the FIRST BITE Label.
There are now 8 separate threads about the Mc Coin
And yet people are arguing over what the KEY coins might be.

8 threads, slabbing by major TPGs.... I guess the promotion wasn't as bad as I had originally thought it was.
I wonder what the US Mint is thinking about these?
I might consider buying one IF it were toilet-paper toned.

Maybe a government cheese coin.
And usually cleanner than the Public Rest Stops IMO.
Still don't like the Mystery Meat at McDonalds. Good Fries though.

Well, you're right. If I remember my Big Mac history right, Kroc was against the Big Mac and didn't want it on the menu.
It was "invented" by one of his franchisee's, who had to convince corporate to allow the sandwich...
Grease is the word!
There is no emergency so great I'd eat there.
But what to call them is easy; They are modern crap.
All the cool McDounalls coins were made in the '60's and early '70's with a few in the '80's.
Now THOSE were classics.
I have even a few from Burger Chef which actually had edible food.
Now if they made "sandwich coins" I might reconsider...
...nah, not really.
They're busy working on their next failure.
