I see this coin as a good AU, are the hits a problem for a numerical grade?

I can't comment on a straight grade or not, but the doubling on this cent looks awesome.

I think if it did, It would be a harsh deal...........I can see a 53 and wouldn't have a problem with it

That should pass and be straight graded. Nice strong DD.
I don't see a problem with it grading okay.
Nice, too.

Man, that bad boy went undetected through many a cash register. Straight grade AU53

Looks like a low AU coin to me and that it will grade.
45 or 53.

Definitely a genuine no problem coin. Honest original wear. Should go AU-53. (At least AU something).

straight grade
BHNC #203
It should straight grade.
Wow... relatively nice for the grade. I see it in a 50 holder. The spots aren't that distracting but they are there and they're the appropriate color for copper. I like it! The doubling is apparent to the unaided eye...

Interesting points of view. I would not be happy to see those reverse side rim marks if I was looking for a problem-free coin.
But it still might straight grade these days.

Got to double take on that Liberty. Awesome coin..AU 50
Probably. the spots on the reverse are distracting, but it should grade in the AU range, IMO.
sure why not send it in. nice coin to
pmd on the "1"?
AU55, no problems getting a straight grade.
Au53 all day everyday

I see no problems at all that should prevent a straight grade. Very nice!

Love the doubling on that one, that is one modern cent I would actually like to have. I would think it would straight grade, in the low AU range.
Is it real? if it's real AU50.
Hoard the keys.
A very nice EF with excellent detail.
While this was the case in 1972, these types of coins are mid-range AUs now.
No offense Roger.
I see it as AU50
I understand, but I use the old-tyme book and don;t accept "grade inflation." Now as far as price goes, it would be the same for the coin regardless of it's "name."
Thanks for the feedback on this one. I did not examine the rim before sending it to ICG with some other coins, they saw the reverse rim hits as a problem: https://i.imgur.com/tKJCnKS.jpg?1
When it came out I saw what they were talking about but since it was old issue and not much beyond the visible rim hits here, I was thinking that other services would not be so critical. I paid $200 for the raw coin, let it go at a loss.
We all done that. Win some lose some but you didn't lose it all, I did that as well.
Hoard the keys.
HMM........graded higher than I thought, and I did not think it would not straight grade.
No matter: The fact remains that it is a very nice, strong representation of the error.

Mine is an OGH 64-RD that has a lot of minor "Chatter" on the obverse, and it holdered. That's why I thought this one would straight grade.
