Anyone notice? . . . . . . . Anyone care?

I noticed PCGS finally certified a 1963-D Lincoln Cent in MS67RD! Years ago, I'd have thought this wouldn't be possible. Also, a new (to me) registry set was listed in the past two months(?) - the Manning set of mint state Lincolns 1959-date AND this set now owns the aforementioned 63-D 1c! This coin is, by far, the rarest regular issue Lincoln Memorial Cent in top grade. Apparently, Andy Skrabalak placed this coin in the set. Congratulations to the owner of the finest PCGS graded Lincoln Memorial set.

With grade inflation, I'm surprised it too this long. Some of those early 1960s pieces are surprisingly tough in higher grades.
Who are you talking to?

I noticed!
I think it is news when a new top pop comes out. Adds interest to our hobby. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, Andy Skrabalak at Angel Dee's. It went into the #1 Lincoln Memorial Set as cupronik mentioned. Congratulations to Andy and the Manning set!
I’m sure that it is a nice coin but I personally would be careful with that kind of stuff given that over 1.7 billion 1963-D’s were minted.
Any otherwise common coin that depends on the plastic for its value should be viewed with caution.
Did the Irwin collection sell and I missed it?
JBK thanks for the editing tip. This was my first post since the message board format changed.
