WHY - WHY - WHY????? Does eBay keep changing everything??????

I have noticed that if I try to check a completed sale and click on a sold item to see the original listing it doesn't take you to the completed listing but to a "similiar" item that isn't necessiliary similiar that is currently for sale.

Does any one know a way to see the actual completed sale?

I am with you, I despise that new feature. You have to go back and click it a second time and it will go to the completed listing.

    That isn't working for me.

Update,,,,,, I tried it on a 2nd auction and it did work. Still won't work on the 1st one.

    Thanks for the tip.

There is the happy banner near the top saying something like the listing is over here is one like it

    Click on the word "listing"

OK, now I see. You click on the word listing AFTER it takes you to the similiar listing then it takes you to the listing that you were looking for.

    Thank-you. :)

High bidder on a coin yesterday with six minutes remaining. Walked away for a bit and returned to see if I won the Dollar. Putzheads though switched the page to a different listing.

I noticed this as well. even worse, sometimes an unsold item will be relisted, but when you click to see the relisted item it brings you to a similar item from a different seller instead. In those cases, I have had to go to the original seller's listings and search for the item again.

I’m sure they have a gaggle if folks who were hired to “improve” the site.

The gaggle clearly has too much time on their hands.

My first thought was that they must have a lot of people researching completed items, but not buying much of anything, and it's taking up bandwidth. In other words, this change was done to intentionally frustrate people who are digging through completed sales. Count me as one person who will go through the extra clicks each and every time, eating up even more bandwidth. ;)

If you have that sale on your watch list you can find it there. I notice that too but its always there in your watch list since it goes into a history. I then PDF print that whole watch list for reference of past sale prices as records for future. I think you can watch up to 300 items.

I agree with those that are frustrated. I just don't understand why they can't make these changes optional versus forcing the change upon the community.

I don't see the new 'feature' as a way to frustrate searching, or to 'screw' eBay users, or as electronic busy work for coders. I see it as a marketing decision to drive eBayers to sales. If you click and see something else available to buy, maybe it is more likely you will continue down the path of looking at items available to buy rather than already sold.

Perhaps simplistic, but I see most of the 'improvements' to eBay about driving up revenue and decreasing costs (or minimizing liabilities). It's a business with shareholders and not a philanthropic venue.

And ... I don't like the 'feature' either!

I do sell many coins on ebay and the crooked buyers represent less than 1% of my sales. I do get them from time to time.

Any business that deals with the public will have people trying to scam them. Human nature.

Ebay is a great platform on which to build a profitable business so altho I did not like the negative feedback policy change, and since I could do nothing about it, I moved forward. Honestly, it really has not mattered much.

Why do you think grocery stores move items around? All about forcing the buying public to look at something they had no intention of looking at on the percentage chance we will buy it. Same as Ebay. It is an improvement, just not for the buyer.

As long as I am complaining,,,,,, why can't companies tell you when they do or change something?
How are we supposed to know how to do it when they change it and don't tell you????

You buy a new I-Phone but there are no instructions on how to use it!!!!!!!! I don't know how to use it,,,,,,, I have to call my son and he tells me what the heck is going on!!!!!

How about when you do an update on your phone or computer<<<<<<<, what is going on there,,,,,,, stil no instructions on what they changed or how to use the "NEW & IMPROVED" update. :s:s:s:s:s;););););)

And as mentioned above the grocery store,,,,,,,,, every time I go in the DANG place they have moved all they stuff that I want to buy. It takes me 3 months to find all the crap and then they move it all again!!!!! ;););););)

Yet another eBay change that I hate.
I clicked on one of those "tell us what you think" links and gave them a screen full.

I also told them if I am going to pay them to list any items of mine for sale I don't want them putting pop-up ads on MY listings. I am paying them to advertise MY items, not other stuff.

Well, one could argue that error coins are hard to move, and not likely to attract the crooks.
While I was at Berk’s we bought in a batch of GSA dollars in sealed boxes. David put them on eBay that way and some guy bid strong and bought the lot. He opened them, maybe switched some, and returned the lot as not as described because the boxes were opened! Of course eBay took his side in the dispute.

Paypal changes from the old "classic view" resulted in a seller's inability to see if a buyer's address is confirmed by paypal.

I leave bad, detailed feedback in a positive feedback. Detailed as much as when they filed, when I sent tracking, when I attempted to contact them, and things they said. This protects me against feedback abuse.

Crooked buyers are the worst people and should just get a god damn job. I bet these people get paid by our government to be illegally in our country, too.

I sell many coins and currency items on eBay and shows from my table.

Ebay is one strategy in my game plan like a team using shotgun one rb 4 wr set and I formation in other situations like inside red zone / run student body left off the left hash catching the defense off guard.

Everybody knows both venues have their pluses and minuses.

On eBay I have my buyer filters on to block certain buyer but won’t argue this foolproof lol. Both venues have their share of bozos.

Ouch. The sealed boxes have always invited trouble on Ebay on both the buy and sell side.
