Best refiner?

I have some scrap gold jewelry that I'd like cash in. I have been able to sell some on eBay, but some items are creeping to metal value not accounting for ebay fees. Much easier to just melt.

There's, ARA, Midwest, any one else that's recommended? I think I used Midwest before and wasn't too happy.

It's been so long, that I'm not 100% sure it was Midwest anymore, but I'm somewhat certain it was them. The amount I got was a bit less than anticipated. Admittedly, there are other factors such as marked 14k really being 13.7k, etc. And after I called, the guy explained to me that there's gold lost in the process (not sure if it's true, but that's what he said). But the thing that really got me was there was a date that was printed on the statement. Then, there was a handwritten date over that. I checked gold prices, and by coincidence I'm sure, gold dropped from the printed date, and the handwritten date had the drop in gold. So, I felt a bit shafted from that.

Their website says no amount too small. I had a couple ounces of relevant material but the secretary on the phone was so rude from midwest i will Never do business with them. I had to call back and tell them to change their website, which they never did.

She may have been drunk, pretty sure her name was "candy", this was a few months ago though.
