the price already reflects the sellout, these were selling in the 35 dollar area just before the sellout. if the price was a good price, they would be selling much faster, his price is too high. heck you can earn 4.44 e bucks too on every purchase and still only had one buyer for the day and we are already in the night hours of the day

Awesume I seen 1 yesterday selling for 1 dollar cheaper but whats a few bucks. Probably more in shipping. I wish these coins would rise in value like my AMD is!
This coin sold out at the mint just a few days ago. Collectors and even some dealers don’t have the mintage information yet. When the word gets out, thru tv and articles that will be written about it, the price of the coin will start to jump. This cycle happens with all the good coins. We are just in the first inning.
I have spoke with a few key players in the modern market, and they are well aware of and are going to be marketing this coin for a while.
The 2017 w $1 burnished silver eagle is in great shape!
It looks like 70’s are going to sell right around $100 this week. The amount of different labels is extremely confusing. Where do you think the most growth will be, raw in the blue box or 69’s or 70’s?

I HATE all the labels the grading companies are putting on the market. I used to collect a number of different sets, but stopped doing so because all the different labels made my sets look horrible. When I collect a set now, I send all the coins back to be put in a regular holder.

so the coins in the slabs are not important at all? Just that the slabs are color coordinated?
when it comes to bullion then , you are paying a second grading fee to re-slab a coin that wasn't worth slabbing the first time around.
Leave the board and go out into the wide world and ask that. The response will be "HUH? what are those things? "
The slabs and 70 grades are a temporary prop on prices of an item with no real demand measured against supply.
If you just scratch the surface of demand you can sell one or 2 70's at relatively high prices but try selling 100 and see what happens.
People make fun of widgets in here , CC dollars in GSA packaging , MS 63 morgans etc. Compared to coins like those however , the burnished coins are a widget of a widget of a widget.
If you can pile every dollar you have together and buy as many as you want in one hour , that is not a good sign in terms of future potential
I have spoken with the tv guys and the tv demand has been super strong. The fact that the coin sold out this week and the public Is just learning of the mintage numbers, coupled with crazy sales figures on TV suggest to me that this coin has legs.
I started collecting ASEs in 2008 but in 2015 gave up on buying any more due to spotting and unattractive toning developing in the slabs months to years after purchase. In my collection the PCGS coins have been much worse than the NGCs , but both have been problematic even stored in Intercept Shield boxes. 2-3 times a year I go through the slabs, pull out any coins with spots and sell them on eBay. Easily half of the coins have been affected and although the rate is slowing down every time I check my ASEs additional coins have developed spots.

Are you referring to MY FRIEND TV Guru. And by the way he is not well liked here. Now not my word other peoples words dont shoot the messenger and buyer beware. Dont forget the Red Oak presentation box we dont get that on Ebay.
It is tempting to blame the buyers for their own stupidity, but I would bet that a lot of the people who watch shopping channels are elderly people. I've heard several times now of retirees blowing thousands of dollars on overpriced QVC/HSN coins, only for their heirs to find out what they've got is worth only a fraction of what was paid. While caveat emptor still applies, I think these tv coin sales definitely fall into the unethical category.
So i don't feel bad about people who get screwed by these shady hsn's. I like watching them to laugh at the silliness of the shows and prices. Direct tv has a coin and art channel 223 that is hilarious to watch. It's like watching the shadiest used car salesman show.threads/
I was in my local coin dealer's store a few years ago, when some older gentleman tried to cash in his graded ASEs (most likely thinking he will be making a profit). I thought the dealer did a wonderful job explaining to the guy that he really wasn't into selling graded bullion coins, and the local market was not good for items like this. My heart kinda sank because I knew this guy probably won't get back half of what he paid for these items. It just shows that you need to be informed before making any investment these days.
Sucker born every minute! (
That's not just on TV, I have met Rick and tried to buy coins from him, but his prices were way too high. I eventually found the coin I wanted from him for about 1/3 of what he wanted for it.
HSN doesn't sell coins. They sell snake oil in the shape of coins - wealth potions. Head on down to the tent next to the accordian-playing Siamese twins, folks! Get the luxurious draft of prosperity you deserve ladies and gentlemen. Only one hundred dollars, you heard me right my friends!! Only ONE HUNDARAD DOLLARS!!!
This thread is great, I always watch HSN coin vault for entertainment only, I DVR it and watch at my leisure, I love it when he repeats his phrases 2 or 3 times in the matter of second..."and folks don't forget we include the red oak presentation box, which by itself is worth half of the asking price tonight, and that is empty and is a top customer pick"....hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Wow spotting I have not found any yet but if I do I like your idea dumping them onto Ebay! I will start looking I just logged all my 2016 purchases into my new 2 coin programs, but I did not pull each one looking at them. I have them each in their own plastic wrap along with the slab. I followed Grandam's plastic bags he uses and I bought 1000 of them. I might slowly swap them out too as I check them all.
About 75% are PCGS so this has me concerned about the spotting. Thank you for that information.
I should of bought more of the First Day of Issue right? I spent most of my money on the other 225th Anniversary Label one. Of course maybe I should of only got the regular first strike only. That way I am not paying the extra on the label premium. I know bad move.
Any more I only by the slabbed 70's cause the mint is putting out such junk that its to hard to buy raw only to be sold 69's and 68's. Its getting old. Thank you MINT

DRfish yesterday I found a few of my 2017 Burnished Silver Dollar coins had some spotting. This is my first time I have experienced this and I was wondering when you go to sell them I take it your letting them bid on these knowing they have spotting correct? Yep - put toned or spots in the title, description and try to capture in your pics. My PCGS Baseball silver dollars also got hammered primarily with unattractive edge toning in the holders - at least 50% so far. You can probably find a lengthy thread on the subject when PCGS quit backing ASEs a few years ago and dropped their guarantee. It sucks for sure. I am done with silver moderns as the spots really really bother me (so does losing money )

The 2017 S Proof Silver Eagle has a mintage of roughly 175,000, and sells at about $90 in 69s.
The 2017 W Burnished Silver Eagle has a last known sales figure of 177.562. I think these 2 coins will be valued much more closely when the burnished silver eagle market catches up.
$37 each on Ebay delivered for the 2017-W Burnished silver eagle. Demand just isn't there for these burnished coins and the coin folders don't have slots for these "w" uncirculated coins either. The proofs have done slightly better over the years in terms of resale value.

I like that low number. I do own about 5 of the FDOI 2017 PCGS SP70s. I guess only 1000 in that special group. Buuuuuuut my 2017 SP70s I found 2 of them have milk spots. The pardon is for tyrants. They like to declare pardons on holidays, such as the birthday of the dictator, or Christ, or the Revolution. Dictators should be encouraged to keep it up. And we should be encouraged to remember that the promiscuous dispensation of clemency is not a sign of political liberality. It is instead one of those valuable, identifying marks of tyranny.

Ask anyone who sat on a pile of 2006 burnished eagles because it was the key, then again in what 2011? Ask those guys how they like the 2017's If you buy 2017 version expect it to crater in 2022 or 2023
Look at the price of platinum proofs and the mintages. And the fact that 2017 Burnished gold eagles get a premium in 2018 says little about the value in 2020. Short term bumps usually reflect initial distribution unevenness not long term viability.
Anything that was easy for you to acquire from the Mint will never be a big winner. With a year long ordering window, anyone who doesn't have one now, doesn't want one. You may pick up a few newbies who want one later, but you will also have people who are dumping duplicates or estates to feed that thin stream of interest.
IMHO, of course.
Good luck to you.
Don't forget to buy 1000 of the reverse proof sets...just in case.
well I finally dug out my 2011 5 coin sets to check for spotting . No milk spots , one set has some toning on the proof that isn't bad looking , the other set has some unattractive toning on the S mint unc. Oddly enough that one has a note in it in my uncles hand writing that says coins rinsed in acetone . That doesn't sound like anything he would have done and I don't remember doing it either
