WHAT TO DO WITH COIN BOOKS IDEAS

Have lots and lots of rare coin books and magazines collected over 25+ years. There's cases and case quantities of red books, other coin books, coin mags etc. Planning on moving back to Boca Raton and want to trim some of this stuff. Someone suggested a charity but which charity would want old coin books? Ideas would be most appreciated!

Do you have books on Barber, Buff and Peace? I am willing to pay incl shipping
No sorry don't have any of those. I want to avoid going thru shipping small quantities also I should have said. Ideally make a few calls and they all get picked up and gone. Has to be hundreds of pounds .

Bonfire? That much material will be hard to move in 1 shot.
Maybe someone with a table at a local coin show would buy the lot for resale.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
If you want to just make them go away, contact the ANA Library now to see if they would want them for their Summer Seminar Library Book Sale.

The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is currently seeking auction lots for its benefit auction. You might donate some of your books there.
Here's a link with more info.
"The 2018 General Meeting of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society (NBS) will be held on Friday, August 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Numismatic Association's World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The meeting will conclude as usual with a benefit auction of numismatic books and related items donated to be sold for the benefit of the organization.
Donations have already been received from several NBS supporters, but more are needed to make the auction a success. NBS Board member David Fanning has volunteered to catalogue and conduct this year's sale. Donated items may be sent to him at:
Kolbe & Fanning Numismatic Booksellers
141 W Johnstown Road
Gahanna OH 43230
He can be reached at df@numislit.com if you have any questions. All proceeds from the auction go to the Numismatic Bibliomania Society, with any expenses incurred in conducting the sale being donated to the NBS. Thank you for your consideration. Donations must be received by July 15."

ANA book sale is a good outlet.
A charitable donation will get you a small tax deduction. ANA is a qualified organization and the deduction can be up to the seminar auction selling price of the donated book.
I would talk to someone at FUN and see if they can help you get the books picked up and delivered to the Summer FUN show for distribution to YNs, local club representatives, etc.

I know a guy in Florida that might take a book or two off your hands
But also I can second (third? fourth?) the ANA book sale suggestion if you could get them there.
Try your local library. Some take donations for book sale fundraisers.
Good Will charities will accept the books - hardcover or paperback.
Suggest checking first to see what their retention policy is. I was disappointed to learn that my local library has been culling its own numismatic books to the point where all that is left is but a shadow of what was once on the shelves. When they cull they put the books in a give away pile for the most part and often I see donated books there as well.
Good luck in your endeavor... lots of helpful posts above.
If the ANA Library wants them, I believe you can mail them at the library rate for inexpensive postage.

I feel your pain. ICG is moving to a much larger building and now with the Internet, the owner is not taking a couple of shelves of auction catalogues. Location :Tampa, FL. Free to anyone who wants them. I will not look for specific auctions. Thanks. Call ICG and ask for Skip.
