As a vintage set builder. I sometimes start with a large lot. My latest set build is 1954 Topps. The original lot had a few cards which, while many people would never do, I placed in the trash as they were pretty gross.
I think maybe this card (and a whole lot of others on eBay) would be best served by putting it out of its misery:

    Yep. Had a monster box of old baseball commons out in the shed some years ago, box and cards had the same markings. Probably don't even need to check dental records :)

    There's a point where a card isn't worth it as a "filler" Daniel.

    I hate to throw cards away. If I accumulate cards that I do not want and can not use ( and are not good candidates for donations somewhere local), I just box them up and mail them to Bob and let him worry about them

    I don't mind tossing 1988 Donruss or the like. I can't bring myself to toss the vintage stuff though! I recently took a couple hundred baseball cards from the 50's, 60's and 70's to a nursing home. There was a nice amount of stars in there, but they were beaters in every sense of the word. I thought some of the old fellas may get a kick out of them. I rubber banded them in groups of 50.

    I have placed all of my beaters in boxes. Like Craig, I will toss new cards, sometimes even mint ones if they are junk sets and not worth the effort to find a new home for, but can't stand to get rid of pre 80 cards.

    I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
