1857 Patent Note. No Idea

I have no idea what this is, how old it was, etc. Was this some commemorative thing to honor the famous 1857 green tint patent?

It's a beautiful advertising note issued by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch and Edson, private bank note printers in 1857.

It advertises an new innovation, the green tint, to prevent counterfeits, particularly the "new" photographic type of counterfeit. Green couldn't be duplicated by the primitive photography used in the 1850s to counterfeit bank notes, so notes printed with this tint were very hard to counterfeit.

There are several varieties of these produced at this time promoting RWH&Es new green tint and this is a nice one, with the back with globe. Unfortunately the damage will decrease the value by 25-50%. Even so, this should be worth several hundred dollars.
