PEI Specimen

I picked this up a few months ago. 1871 PEI specimen cent in PCGS SP63BN. It is a medal alignment example, which is much scarcer than the coinage alignment (2 examples to 10 in the PCGS pop report). I loved the colors on it. Great photo by Phil and his crew.

The PEI cents used the same obverse matrix as the Jamaican halfpennies of the day. The Royal Mint just mated that design to a new reverse designed for PEI.
