Calling all Large cent collectors.

Please tell me about lining up the "O" in "OF" on the reverse and the numeral in the date.

    I assume you mean as one of the diagnostics to identify genuine 1804 large cents.
    To add, this will help ID those fakes from an altered date - certainly die struck or casts etc made from a genuine '04 couldn't use this diagnostic.
    I'm not smart enough or skilled enough to rely on this myself....that's why I bought one in a holder. But it does line up on mine - as the reverse is rotated sufficiently to do this. But I don't know if all of them have this same rotation.

    Yes, the "0" or the "4?" I think it is the "0" but I'm having a brain fart and cannot remember for sure or find the answer on line! today!

    It is the position of the 0 in the date relative to the O in OF.
