Didn't seem to be that way at the Nationals session. My consignment that night realized about 20% more than I was hoping it would, especially one lot where two Heritage Live bidders fought over the privilege of throwing money at me. During the Platinum Session, the good stuff did very well - the $1000 Gold sold for $600K on a $500K-up estimate.

So how did the auctions go in general and with Greensheet or one of the other publications represent the actual market with real and comprehensive reports?\

_So how did the auctions go in general _
Nationals did well, especially the high denominations ($50s and $100s) - they seem to be the "flavor of the month". The one exception was run-of-the-mill stuff in low grade which went begging. Large Size, the same thing - the good stuff did fine, the "dreck" not so much. The other areas - Small Size, Obsoletes, etc. were all over the place - some lots went crazy, others died, with no discernable pattern (at least that I could see, although those collecting specialties are not my areas of expertise).
Going into today's Internet Only Sessions, the total Prices Realized was around $10.5 Million.

Then this happens and the bids on the $5 USN 28A Star blow out estimates, darn!

I had my eye on that too. Thought I was going to win for $450. It goes more than double that and I get blown away! All previous sales in that condition have been MUCH less. What the heck?
