These are pretty cool. It's a low mintage series, if I'm not mistaken?

Nice marsupials! That's a different 1959 than the one I saw, isn't it?

Not the one you saw. That was the infamous Proof/not proof/ again proof coin.

I really like the third 1958 as well as the 1957. A work in progress I assume, because I do not see a 1964. Beautiful coins fantastically imaged!

BEAUTIFUL, Ajaan!! A circulated Aussie large cent given to me by my grandparents when I was just a youngster was what propelled me into Darkside collecting. I still have that one, along with all but 5 others in the series - - although just in circulated vs proof - - as well as most of the other Aussie pre-decimal series' coins. My favorite Darkside country to collect.

The above are absolute beauties!! Please keep the pictures coming!

I was just about to open a new post semi-congratulating myself on "completing" (as best as I'll ever be able to) my circulated-condition Aussie 1/2-penny & penny collections when I saw this, so I figure just a post on yours will suffice.

About 55 years ago, my grandparents gave me an Aussie large penny (which I have to this day), which got me interested in Darkside collecting.

Flash-forward to today, when my last "obtainable" penny arrived (1959m "no-dot-after-Y") from eBay, and my effectively "closing the books" on that and my half-penny sets, since I never anticipate finding/affording the last 3 rare dates/mints actually produced in each set:
    1/2-penny: 1923, 1930m, 1944m
    Penny: 1925m, 1930m, 1946m

These 2 sets join my earlier-completed New Zealand 1/2-penny & penny sets, which I truly completed several years ago.

    I love Aussie & NZ pre-decimals!! :)

Very nice! I don't think I've ever seen a proof version of this type before.
