Work in progress. This is the steel hub that will be used to make the dies to strike high relief medals in silver. I can use this skull device to make several variations by adding roses, feathers, hats, scarves, helmets, lettering, dates, etc. into the working dies. Carved by hand. The silver medals will be available soon from the new Gallery Mint.

I enjoy and appreciate his talent so it'll be nice to see what he does.
Yes, he is a true craftsman. Too bad he stopped for a while. I think D Carr and the Shirepost Mint have filled some of the vacuum in the meantime.
agreed. when I look at some of the issues I have from the late 1990's it's amazing to realize Mr. Landis did everything by hand.
Ron and Dan have very different approaches to their work. I don't see that one fills voids left by the other as much as I see that they have separate niches.

That is indeed great news. Ron Landis is an accomplished artist, engraver, and mint historian. I look forward to seeing his work. Does this mean that the Gallery Mint Museum will also be reopened?
This is great news! I love Ron's work and look forward to him getting back into the hobby.
