Anybody seen this set or know who made it?

The coins in the set include like the NE Shilling and 1680 Farthing and they look like pretty darn good repros IMO.

    I found a listing on ebay, which indicated it was a promotion for Fleischman's Margarine or Egg Beaters, and was shipped from Danbury, CT; original cost $2.50. You could probably narrow down the date from the postage amount.
    I imagine that Colonial coin dealers and specialists are all too familiar with these....

    Would like to have one of those for the Social Studies teachers at out Middle School. One teacher includes coins in her lesson.

    There was an article in CW or NNa few years back that described the company that produced these 1960s-70s. I forgot the name but remember that they were in the Northeast.

    They also produced a set of six colonials that were distributed through Time-Life. About 45+ years ago, I remember examining the Continental dollar, a Higley 3 pence and a Pine Tree shilling and three others and being impressed that these looked real. (As an 8 year old, I was a collector who could identify these but not authenticate them.) This company also produced replicas of ancient coins. They were fairly prolific and produced a variety and large quantities of replicas. This was before the days of the Hobby Protection Act, so none of these are marked "Copy", as now required.

    Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

    Looks like Tatham Coin and Stamp Company replicas. Are any of them marked with a small "T"?

    eBay. $19.00 delivered. Probably does not come with the original envelope and advertising. It's too bad they are stamped "copy."
