I will miss Dennis, he was always so happy and positive and a joy to be around! My heart and prayers go out to all his friends and family.

I took this picture of Mike and Dennis H. at Denny's during the 2012 FUN show for my show report.

Did something happen to Dennis too? I must have missed that.

I think that was a typo.

What a sad and heartbreaking day.
It is, however, so nice to read the stories from his friends.

Oh my word....I'm sorry to hear this. Mike had a thread "ATS" that posted his coins...mostly Barbers..and I used to give him a hard time that he'd "bought every Barber coin in existence". It was good fun....now I'm just sad...I never got to meet him at a show unfortunately. This is just awful. My condolences to his family. :(

I met Mike a few times at various shows as he hung out at Glenn Holosbake's table. Since I knew of him from the boards, he was an easy connection and one with a ready smile. I think what I liked about him the most was his enthusiasm and love of all things Barber. Gosh it saddens to learn of his sudden death. A big loss for our hobby and for our community.

Very shocked and sorry to read this. Only dealt with him once at a show, but obviously loved coins as much as anyone. May he rest in peace.

Here's my only Barber (that I know of) in my collection that once belonged to Mike:

It sure would be nice if there was a way to get a pedigree label on all his PCGS coins before they get auctioned off.

    I love them Barber Halves.....

I wanted to post a few coins that were ex Mike Hayes that I have. We had quite a few dealings between selling and buying between each other, and he was always very friendly and courteous. He will be missed, and my condolences to his family, also very glad to hear ginga and max found a home, he would always mention about walking his fur buddies. Rest in Peace Mike.

Wow that stinks. I remember reading his posts often before I took a break from forums. I hope he knew how many people cared about him.
