Pinklee....In regards to some notes you have serial numbers up for sale...I may like to tell you that there is
no such thing as a near solid. It is either solid it it is not...There are no shades of grey in this business.

Another regarding your $1 & $100 with 78900987 and LL 54444445 respectively What you have is actually known in the numismatic field as a "RADAR" banknote . This applies to both of these. You will see that the numbers looking from the left and right are the same...If you spell the word R A D A R you will get just that. However what what do you get if you spell it backwards????? These are rarer than star notes but the only problem is that they are not mentioned in any catalogues so many collectors disregarded them....

Fancy serial numbers have become extremely popular in the last 5+ years and in the last couple years, even non-collectors have become aware through popular media that fancy serial number notes can command a premium.

And, while oz is correct that the 3 $100 at the top of the post are Radars (in fact 15555551 and 54444445 are known as Super Radars), the term "near solid" is also commonly used, but usually for a note with 7 of a kind.

  • This is for pinklee

Have you got a note with serial number 69696969

There is an actual note with SEX 696969 and it is
a $10 from Australia.... I have no idea who has it or
if it has been worn out with usage...It was minted in
1967 and the signatures are coombs and randall.

My brother has SEX 699669 but is not the same in my eyes.
As you see American notes have 8 numbers and australian have only 6

Coombs did not last in the treasury long enough for there to
be enough notes for all the aussie collectors let alone worldwide.
It quickly changed to Phillips Randall in 1968

Please dont forger that these notes do not have to be slabbed and in
UNC condition... They are all UNIQUE ( which means only 1 of )

In my eyes, the hardest note to be found is a radar....
The fact they are not noted in any catalogue makes them not sorted
after but i can assure you once they are published, you watch the price.
The ration of radars in australian notes is one in every 10,000 minted or
    ( 1/10,000 ) due to having 6 numbers.

In USA bills, there is 1 in a million as there is 8 digits.

Attached i have scanned the page in relation to the Aussie $10 notes.
Please note the QTY of star notes printed and their prices.
If a coombs randal - ZSD can be valued at $1900.00 ( and has a ratio of 1/232 notes),
then what should a radar note be on the aussie notes with a ratio of 1/10,000 notes??

As 232 goes into 10,000 over 43 times, that should make the radar note valued at
    43 x $$1800.00 = $77,400 each!!!!!! - PICTURES BELOW.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 2011 REFERENCE AND IS 6 YEARS OLD!!!

if that is the case, then what would the sex note ( sex 696969 )be worth if there
is 1 per 100,000 in aussie notes and 1 per 10,000,000 notes??

    Both would be unoque, correct???
