I joined a couple forums on Facebook and I'm surprised by the high percentage of new collectors on there. Most from Foreign countries and (as I said before here), many seem to obsess about typical minor doubling or simple production errors.

I just wonder how collecting is in India. Is collecting coins a big thing? Is it small but getting big? I seem to see a lot of stuff like that on Facebook.

One of my biggest scores ever was buying an early India Prooflike set, 1950 if I recall, as part of a large world coin collection. It brought 4 figures on Ebay. Shipped to an established buyer in the middle east with no issues.
I had no idea it was that valuable. Apparently very few were made on the early dates of independent India.
