If some members would stop reviving 5 year old posts.......
Notsure what your questions is.
Here is one. Are the missing edge lettering dollars still legal tender?
Yes.
Now we have some momentum.
If you soak an old cent in olive oil to remove crud.....is the oil still good to use on salads?
The 1916D Mercury Dime has a mintage of 264000 but almost everyone thinks it is the Rarest Mercury Dime in Mint State. Why do people think it is?

How funky is the coin?

Edited to add: After all, one of the world's most expensive "delicacy" coffees is made from coffee beans that were eaten by a civet cat, fermented in its intestines, and then defecated out.
Only if the coin's design is in good taste.

Wasn't a question, had no question 'mark(glicker)' at the end. Merely an observation.
How many coins does an average collector bring with him into the grave?
Newbie (me) is exempted from the forbidden question.
From an actual or metaphorical burial (i.e. being "buried in a coin")?
Actual, I guess. Everyone must have at least one favorite coin that can't never be replace or let go.
Why aren't people who call cents, "pennies" beaten severely?
Okay, I'll bite. If you send a bag of Hershey's kisses with your submission, on average, do the coins come back with higher grades? What about wine coolers?
I have no cents but my name is penny and people nick named me pennies so I tagged you for abuse.
Why are Kennedy halves still being made?

Why are the cent and nickel larger than the dime? Mint has had 53 years to get them to proper scale.
Why isn't a gold dollar called a "Tenth Eagle"?
Why are cents, nickels, and paper dollars still being made when it isn't cost effective to do so?

Is there any legal recourse if a fast food business refuses to accept the SAC dollar or a legit two dollar bill?
Why do we call a 1986 SAE "modern" and the PCGS holder of the same year "old"?
.
Absolutely, especially if over 5,000!

No. Federal law requires that the pieces are legal tender, but there is no federal statute requiring private vendors to accept the coins.
Yes. You have the legal right to take your business elsewhere.

If the CU forums stopped showing the post counts would the quality of the posts increase and would the number of posts decrease?

Legal tender for chicken tenders.

Unlikely unless someone uses the "Flag" feature to alert them that there's a problem.
