SPECTACULAR Commems, Mark. I think that they will sell for much more than Legend's estimate. But if they don't I would be happy to own a few.
OINK
Good God Mark. Almost makes me want to start collecting commems!
I will second....great coins.
Nice looking coins, but the NGC MS-67 1934 Walker images almost look like two different coins. The color is booming on the individual coin shots, but not on the slab shot, which is closer to in hand?

Some high quality stuff there. Very cool!

The obverse is darker then the reverse. This is a head on shot from Todd. It is truly a coin that needs to be seen in hand to be appeciated. I probably wouldn't have bought it just from the images. I had a in home trial.
The successful bidders is probably going to be someone who viewed the coin in hand
Thanks all for the comments

FYI I have received several emails and PM's asking why I'm selling.
Actually many are dupes.
PLUS I'm
1) focusing on 1892-1925 commems plus an complete Oregon run
2) I'm aborting toned Wakkers from the 30's and upgrading my 40's toned set
3) I'm working on a better date, better grade gold type set. Money drain
What I have up for sale is a small portion of my toned collection so I'm noting getting out of the market! I just wanted to have a meaningful sale and that meant giving up some teasures. I already have some regrets but selling is supposed to hurt a little : )
Thanks for asking!

The auction is completed. I want to thank everyone for all the interest and support. In short some of the commems set record prices for their grade. The walkers were weaker then expected. All in all in total my consignment exceeded my expectations by a county mile.

I watched the Morgan toners go off. Saw two bidders go from $10K to $18K on one lot.
For the WLHs, your 35-S was a surprise. Well bought. The 45-S was a surprise, but the PCGS pops have massively exploded in 67 (many with color) - so this may have suppressed your piece.
It seems that LRCA does bring out the toner collectors. What a feeding frenzy it was.
The Antietam and the Hudson where the two that interested me. But I got smoked.
Congrats on the sale!
Also surprised your Walkers were not stronger. In the same auction, my old 19-D showed up In a plus holder but brought a lower price than when it was auctioned in a 64 holder. Not sure if that is about the market for Walkers, the detriment of the coin not being fresh or something about Legend Auctions v. heritage.
Glad your commems did well.

I found that if the coins were all there aesthetically and technically they got rewarded. They also needed to be stickered. Three of the toned stickered commems set records for their grades. Yes, I was disappointed in two of the Walkers. Not having stickers hurt the walkers
There were bidding wars on the commems with crackout guys and collectors which helped. None on the coins we ever sent in for regrades. That actually helps by maybe leaving a little meat on the bone.

I think much of Legend's bidding/customer pool is PCGS and CAC only, which is what really hurt the NGC star walker. I think it would have done better in a different venue. Regardless, I am happy that things worked out for you overall.
Your Texas and Roanoke were my favorites, but there were some spectacular coins in there besides those. Congratulations on a successful run.
Kind regards,
George
Perhaps on a coin by coin basis but I looked at it in total. By making it a larger submission I got a very good chunk of the buyers commission. So I netted out very well on the total.
