1943 steel cent--walkthrough?

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, it got graded and true-viewed in a couple days: http://www.pcgs.com/cert/84086202

re-processed to boot! Must have paid for express or such service.
bob:(
Are you questioning the grade? or????
Oh my. I can't imagine why anyone would pay a premium for quick grading and a TV on a damaged steel cent. There must be some other explanation.
Lance.
He's color blind and thought it was copper?
Thought it was an experimental alloy?
To answer the 4th question directly above:
Because it was struck on a copper cent planchet.
Hmmm.....looks re-plated to me hence the damaged grade?
K
I'm not sure why anyone would send a reprocessed steel cent in for grading.

The owner likely thought it was a "proof."
One might conclude that the owner is - what's the expression?--- "under water" in this one!
That's a CoinFacts image, not a TrueView, so PCGS made the decision and covered the costs of the imaging. Wonder why PCGS imaged this one.
It was graded in two days: https://www.pcgs.com/Membership/sharedorder.aspx?OrderNo=21218134&Year=2017&Month=4
Where are you seeing MS68? The coin I see when I hit the link is an XF details coin. Am I missing something?
I can't believe someone had that graded!
I am not complaining because I own pcgs stock and that adds to the profit!
I don't get that when I click on it. I get sent to the PCGS Coin facts page. Is that the MS68 you're referring? Because the coin I see in Coin Facts is gorgeous.
Ahhh, I see. That's not a stain rather it's something that many of these steel cents have, it's like a very shiny area but not really resembling polish. Must have something to do with the way they were minted because I've some pristine versions straight from original bank rolls with that same markings
maybe someone saw it as prooflike
Again, what coin are you referring to? The one the OP posted or the coin on Coin Facts?
I'm seeing two distinctly different coins.
It's NOT a stain, it's an artifact of the minting process and is only found in the fields and not the devices, hence little to no effect on the grade. And that coin is perhaps the finest example of a 43 that exists. They don't get any better than that.
