31 here, I collect error coins and new orleans gold. For errors I enjoy double denominations, off-metals, wrong planchets, and double struck in collar. I collect US and World errors, I have complete key date set of lincolns. I also have recently completed full run of new orleans gold in PCGS AU, working on a type set of new orleans gold.
WTB... errors, New Orleans gold, and circulated 20th key date coins!
I'm 39, I have been into coins since I was about 12. First coins that I owned were Walkers, I bought them with my weekly allowance for doing chores around the house. Now for the past two and a half years the wife and I set up at 2-3 coin shows per month to buy and sell. All this along with my full time job, keeps us busy.
I'm 44, so on the top end of "young collectors" though I'd say I'm certainly on the younger end of those I've seen with interest locally. There probably aren't too many that have been here awhile that don't know what I collect. 1950-70 Cameo and Deep Cameo proofs. Here are a few of my top sets only a very few minor exceptions that weren't purchased raw:
Though I recognize this area of the coin market has continually declined in value since I started collecting it back in 2011, my registry inventory still tells me PCGS values my set at over 4x my cost.

My son is 25 and I actually discourage him from collecting. He is more into bullion stacking then coins and as I say he's going to get what I have since he's an only child. The Only Rule that I try to get him to follow is Never by something you don't hundred percent want, don't buy just to buy. Actually two rules the other rule is try to get your Collectibles paid for by flipping deals to good to pass up. That worked rather well with the firearms
Mark NGC registry V-Nickel proof #6!!!! working on proof shield nickels # 8 with a bullet!!!!
