Lesson from reviewing notes

I take notes when I am considering purchasing a coin whether I buy it or pass. I spent some time looking at my notes today and realized something. Coins that I was torn on at the time and didn't buy---I don't regret not buying (there was one exception). On the other hand, coins that I pulled the trigger very quickly , looking back I am glad I did purchase
The reason I think is I know my series well. When I pull the trigger quickly I usually know instantly the price is fair, realize how rare the coin is and am confident of the dealer and his description. On the other hand, when I was unsure and passed something stood out (high price, unknown dealer, coin wasn't all there ). At least on a couple of the "passes" I found better quality coins for a cheaper price (the passed on coins were just priced way too high).
I hope this exercise makes me trust my instincts buying or passing in the future.

I do not have a 'series' but I agree with you, I take notes and do research before I buy.

I have lost opportunities because of it, but I am glad I did not rush in.
